Terrell County's High Victorian in Gothic style courthouse was constructed in 1892, at a cost of $36,832. William A. Parkins served as the architect and designer of the structure. Materials from within the state were used whenever possible; Georgia clay for the bricks and Georgia granite for the arches.
The prominent feature of the Terrell County Courthouse is its clock tower and wind vain. The tower is visible for miles around. The wind vane provides a steady indication of the prevailing wind from it 's vantage point. The E. Howard clock has two bells to toll the hour and half-hour, but only the hours are currently counted.
The Terrell County Courthouse building is no longer being utilized for the business of government.
