The Albany Technical College’s Adult Literacy Program is specifically designed for adults who need assistance with basic academic skills. Instruction is designed for students to earn a GED diploma. We offer flexible programs that meet the needs of individuals who wish to participate.

In addition to adult basic education and GED preparation, the Adult Literacy Program provides classes and services for workplace literacy, English Literacy Programs (ELP), family literacy, job readiness and life skills classes.

Our Mission

The purpose of Albany Technical College’s Adult Literacy Program is to provide high quality services of adult literacy, basic skills training, English as a second language and instruction leading to a high school equivalency diploma (GED). Our goals are to motivate students to achieve their maximum potential, to promote family and workplace literacy for a higher quality of life, to foster life-long learning and to provide a literate, technically competent workforce for business and industry in Albany Tech's service delivery area (SDA).
