Bell-Raines-Curtis

This Neo-Classical style home on Church Street in Dawson was built prior to 1850. It remained in the Bell family until 1935. Mrs. Edwin Bell sold it to her neighbor, Mrs. A.G. Raines. In 1969 Mrs. Orrin Curtis became the owner.
The home was originally constructed to meet the needs of Southern living. It had a large verandah and a central hall for summer ventilation. Each room had a fireplace for winter heat.
