Marlin-Bennett

This (Southern) Colonial-Revival style home, located on Lee Street in Dawson, was built in 1910 by Richard Roscoe Marlin. Bob and Phyllis Bennett acquired the home in 1989 and began their restoration project.
Structurally, the home is close to its original design. Relatively few changes were made through the decades. Four massive, two-story columns dominate the front, along with the fourteen one-story columns. All are topped with Roman Corinthian style capitals. All nine fireplace mantels are original, as well as the sliding window screens and transoms.
