Paschal-Edwards-Rakel

Along Church Street in Dawson is this Queen-Anne Victorian Eclectic style home. Built circa 1875 for Dr. W.C. Pascal, a veteran of the Civil War. It was constructed in the box-house style. In the 1890s, Dr. Pascal transformed it into the Victorian style by adding the turrent, baywindows, pocket doors, and the decorative molding.
It remained in the Pascal family until 1936 when Judge Edwards purchased it for his son. Over the years, it was divided into apartments; first into two, then into four. In 1988 Dail and Paul Rakel began their task of making it a single family home.
